◆ドイツ、ベルリンにて日本人オペア/Au Pair募集2024年1月スタート◆
————————-—
prefer a college graduate. We would like someone who’s worked with small children before, ideally an actual preschool teacher. Two of our babysitters thus far have been Japanese preschool teachers, and we love them both.
Not a single parent family.
We are German, although my wife is half Japanese, and I come from the United States.
3 kids
Yes we require care for under age 2.
Kid’s ages 5, 3, and baby.
No special needs.
Yes, they go to preschool.
No pets.
All 5 of us live at home.
We speak German, Japanese, and English (although I , the father, do not speak Japanese)
No smoking, even outside.
My wife and I are upper 30s early 40s.
Au pair must be female.
We’d prefer an au pair over 20, ideally 24-26. Older candidates may apply, but they would have to come with a working holiday visa, as Germany only grants au pair visas up to age 26.
No driver license nor driving required. We have great subway and bus connections.
We do not even own a car.
Yes light housework is required.
The au pair can generally go to school weekdays while the kids are at preschool. For instance, 11-14 works well for our current au pair.
The au pair can attend daytime school ideally, but we could consider night classes.
The language school we recommend is about 10 minutes away with a bike.
The au pair can and should speak Japanese with the children.
We prefer a Japanese au pair for this reason.
We would be willing to help with the airfare for the right candidate.
The should start sometime between January and April of 2024.
If she’s 26 or under, we can arrange for an au pair visa. Over 26, and she’ll need a working holiday visa.
We’d like someone who will stay at least 10 months.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our au pair would generally take the kids to school in the mornings and then have several hours off. She would then pick them up around 4pm and help them get to their activities. We try to eat dinner together as a family around 7pm and then the au pair would help the kids get ready for bed. My wife often works Thursday-Saturday evenings, but we have a babysitter who often covers at least one of those evenings each week. The au pair would help prepare meals and with light housework, like emptying the dishwasher, tidying up the kitchen after dinner, helping with the children’s laundry, grocery shopping. But we also have a maid come once a week. And my wife and I also do all of these duties as well. For instance, I often take the kids to school myself and my wife loves putting the kids to bed. The rules are all set by German law, and this includes one free day each week, a limit of 30 hours of babysitting, and 4 weeks of vacation if the au pair stays for 12 months.
Our Dear Au Pair letter:
Dear Au Pair! Our family is excited to meet you. Our children are 1/4 Japanese, and we wish to nurture their connection to their heritage. We have had wonderful experiences with several Japanese babysitters and recently with a Japanese Au Pair. We live in the heart of Berlin and near a great language school. You’d have a very sunny room in our new apartment. We live close to three subway lines and there’s a grocery store in our apartment complex. It’s all very convenient. We have three children who will be 5, 3, and 10 months old when you start. We’re looking for someone who’s flexible with planning as my wife and I are both musicians and can’t work normal business hours. We’d be happy to put you in touch with one of our babysitters or our current au pair if you’d like to know how they feel about us. And we ourselves will be in Japan in November for two weeks and would look forward to meeting you in person after a videocall interview.
As our children are quite small, we’re looking for someone who’s more interested in exploring Berlin during the day than the nightlife.
Special consideration will be given to candidates who’ve worked in preschools. We’ve had especially good luck with two babysitters from that metier. Thanks for reading and we hope you’ll reach out!
